Codes: GMT 31XX, RG (shared code with global Colorado). Also called: GMC Canyon (twin).

How to tell it apart: Mid-size truck with a two-tier Chevy grille and a bowtie in the bar; MY2021-22 trucks have the CHEVROLET name stamped on the tailgate, and ZR2 has the letter grille.

  • ZR2 added (2017 model year): Off-road model: lifted, wider track, unique front bumper; production ZR2 revealed at 2016 LA show, deliveries around May 2017 (search snippets; Wikipedia confirms MY2017).
  • MY2021 update (8 Oct 2019): New lower fascia, centre bar and skid plate on WT/LT/Z71, revised bowtie, 'CHEVROLET' word mark on tailgate; ZR2 gets flow-through 'Chevrolet' grille and red tow hooks (AutoGuide 8 Oct 2019).

  • Australia: Australia had the different global Colorado as Holden Colorado RG, June 2012 to 2020 (Wikipedia Chevrolet Colorado and Holden Colorado pages; Holden brand ended 2020).
  • United States: Revealed LA Auto Show 20 Nov 2013 (Wikipedia). Dealers took delivery of first orders at Wentzville 8 Oct 2014 (MarkLines 10 Oct 2014). Extended cab 6.2 ft bed, crew cab 5.2 or 6.2 ft bed.
  • Europe and the UK: Not confirmed.
  • South Africa: Not confirmed.
  • Thailand: Thailand built and sold the global RG Colorado 2011-2020; GM agreed to sell the Rayong plant to Great Wall and pull Chevrolet from Thailand by end of 2020 (Truck and Bus Builder 1 Mar 2020).
