How to tell it apart: Round headlights either side of a seven-slot grille on a rounded, compact four-door body with a side-hinged tailgate carrying the spare wheel.

  • 2005 model year facelift (July 2004 (US); Australia update December 2004): Revised front fascia, grille and fog lamps per Auto123 (page could not be opened); Renegade got a flat hood and taller grille.
