Land Cruiser 200 and Prado 150 Years by Market, and the 80 and 100
The Land Cruiser 200 ran from September 2007 (Japan) to August 2021, with facelifts in 2012 and 2015; the US sold it for model years 2008 to 2021. The Prado 150 ran from September 2009 to April 2024, with facelifts in 2013 and 2017, and was never sold as a Toyota in the US. Each facelift changed the grille, headlamps and bumpers, so match a part to the facelift, not the model year.
The Land Cruiser 200 went on sale in Japan on 18 September 2007 and in Australia in November 2007, was facelifted in 2012 and again in August 2015, and was replaced by the 300 Series in August 2021. The Prado 150 went on sale in Japan on 14 September 2009 and in Australia in November 2009, with facelifts in 2013 and 2017, and was replaced by the 250 Series in 2024. In the US the 200 was sold for model years 2008 to 2021, and the Prado 150 was never sold as a Toyota. Each facelift changed the grille, headlamps and bumpers, so match a part to the facelift, not the model year.

What changed at each facelift?
Land Cruiser 200, 2012: a new grille with chrome slats, new front and rear bumpers with new fog lamps, new headlamps with LED strips, LED tail lights and indicators in the mirrors (GoAuto, GoAuto).
Land Cruiser 200, 2015: a three-bar grille whose metal trim runs into new LED headlamps, a rear garnish across the tail lamps, which now reach the edge of the body, and a new centre cluster on the dashboard (Toyota, 2015).
Prado 150, 2013: a bolder five-bar grille, new headlamps and bumper, and a new dashboard with a 7-inch screen (Carsguide).
Prado 150, 2017: a new bonnet, headlamps set further inboard, and a new grille, front guards and bumpers; inside, a new instrument binnacle, dashboard and console (WhichCar).
For a bumper or bull bar the front end is what matters: a part made for one facelift may not fit the guards, headlamps or bumper mounts of another.
Which Land Cruiser do I have?
- Check the market. A Toyota sold new in the US as a “Land Cruiser” between the 2008 and 2021 model years is a 200; the Prado 150’s US relative is the Lexus GX 460.
- Read the build date on the vehicle label, not the advertised model year, and note where it was first sold.
- Look at the front. On a 2015-on 200 the grille trim runs into the headlamps; on a 2017-on Prado the headlamps sit further inboard with a sculpted bonnet between them.

How to pick:
- 200 Series: the complete scan has the interior, engine bay and underbody in one file, for bars, sliders, drawers and roof racks. Compare its grille, headlamps and bumper with your truck to see which facelift it shows before you design front-end parts.
- Prado 150: the same applies; check the front against the facelift list above. The three-door Prado has a different body behind the front doors.
- Lexus LX 570 or GX 460: these are related models with their own fronts and many different panels; use the scans only for parts you can check on your vehicle.
- 80 and 100 Series: the front and rear scans are taken with the bumpers off, for bull bars and rear bars on the real frame ends.

What should I check before designing a bar or rack?
Compare two or three measured points on your vehicle (frame rail ends, bumper bolt holes, roof rail positions) with the scan before cutting metal.
