Isuzu D-Max 2020+ 3D Scan: Tray, Canopy and Underbody Design
The D-Max scan is the full exterior of a 2020 double cab with all four wheels and the underbody: ladder frame, front and rear suspension, driveshaft, exhaust, fuel tank and spare-wheel carrier. That makes it a good base for trays, canopies, sliders and underbody protection. The cabin interior and the engine bay are not scanned.

What is in the D-Max scan?
One STL of a 2020 Isuzu D-Max double cab (third generation, RG), in millimetres at 1:1: 4,418,118 triangles, 221 MB. At that size it opens quickly in Fusion, SolidWorks or Blender on an ordinary laptop.

The measured extent is 5,287 × 2,165 × 1,752 mm (208.1 × 85.2 × 69.0 in). The width includes the mirrors. Published lengths for 2020 double cabs are in the same range (5,295 mm for the Malaysian 1.9 L 4x4); trims, bumpers and tow bars change the last few centimetres.
What can you design with it?
Trays and canopies. The tub, the frame under it and the back of the cab are all in one file, so you can check what a tray sits on once the tub is cut away in CAD, how high the frame rails are, and the gap a canopy has to clear at the cab.
Rock sliders and side steps. The sills and the frame are both scanned, so the slider’s line, its clearance to the body and its mounting points on the frame can be drawn in the same model.
Underbody protection. Frame, suspension, driveshaft, exhaust and fuel tank are where a skid plate or tank guard has to fit around them.
Front and rear bumpers. The factory bumpers are in place, so their shape and the space around them are there; the mounting faces behind the factory bumpers may be hidden, so check them on the truck before you design brackets.

- Anything inside the cabin or the engine bay
- Your truck’s ride height if it is lifted or loaded differently
How do you set it up in CAD?
